What your volume costs, everywhere.

Pick how many transactional emails you send a month. Each row is the cheapest published plan that covers it, at list price, before add-ons. Where we are not the cheapest, the list says so.

a month

Mailchimp: Charges by how many contacts you store, not how many emails you send, so there is no fair way to put it on this scale. Check their page

What each price assumes
SendGrid

SendGrid has a 60-day trial rather than a free plan. Its page shows starting prices only, and overage rates are not published there.

Resend

The free plan is capped at 100 emails a day. Marketing email is billed separately, by contact.

useSend

Usage-based with a $10 monthly minimum. Can also be self-hosted, which changes the maths entirely.

Mailgun

The free plan is capped at 100 emails a day. Above 100,000 a month Mailgun quotes on request.

Plunk

The free plan adds Plunk branding to emails. Can also be self-hosted.

Outsend

Free up to 3,000 a month, then Pro at $10 for 10,000 and $1 per 1,000 after. Every feature is on every plan.

Postmark

Shown on the Basic plan, its cheapest. Pro and Platform cost more and add features.

How it works

Where the numbers come from.

Think a number is wrong? Tell us and we will publish the correction.

How is each price worked out?

For the volume you choose, we take every plan the vendor publishes and work out what it would cost that month: the plan price, plus published overage for anything above what the plan includes. The row shows the cheapest result. List price, monthly billing, transactional sending only, no promotions and no add-ons such as dedicated IPs.

Why does a vendor say “not published” at some volumes?

Above a certain volume some vendors quote on request instead of publishing a price. We show that rather than stretch a smaller plan’s overage rate into a number they never offered.

Why is Mailchimp not in the list?

Mailchimp charges by how many contacts you store, not how many emails you send, so there is no fair way to put it on this scale. Our Mailchimp comparison covers what actually differs.

Why is Amazon SES not in the list?

Outsend sends through Amazon SES, and raw SES is cheaper per message than any platform built on top of it, ours included. It is also only the sending part: event storage, suppression, bounce handling and a dashboard are yours to build. Our Amazon SES comparison covers that trade.

Some prices have an asterisk. What does that mean?

The vendor’s own page did not show that figure, usually because it sits behind a selector, a PDF or a sales call. Those numbers come from independent 2026 pricing guides that agreed with each other. Check the vendor’s page before you rely on one.

How often are the prices checked?

Every figure is re-checked against the vendor’s page at least once a quarter, and the date of the last check is shown under the calculator. If you spot one that is wrong, tell us and the correction gets published.
