Postmark has been operating carefully since 2010 and has the deliverability reputation to show for it. We agree with most of their design decisions — including the ones we copied.
A long operational track record
Well over a decade of running transactional email carefully. That history is not something a newer platform can claim, and it is worth real money to some buyers.
Message streams, done right
Separating transactional from broadcast sending with independent suppression is the correct design. We do the same thing, and we took the idea from them.
Inbound email processing
Postmark can receive mail on your domain, parse it to JSON, and post it to your webhook. We do not handle inbound mail at all, so if replies or email-to-ticket are part of your product, Postmark covers it and we do not.
Support people actually praise
Their support reputation is earned and consistently reported. If that is your deciding factor, it is a good reason.
Raw provider payloads retained
Not only a normalised event record, but the original payload it was derived from — which is what tells you whether a deferral is an addressing problem or a reputation signal.
Published methodology, before the numbers
We publish how we will measure acceptance, deferral, placement, and latency before we publish any results, and we commit to correcting in public rather than quietly.
Per-domain send regions
Sending region is set per domain rather than per account, so EU-bound mail can stay in an EU region without running a second account.
Campaign tooling around the broadcast stream
Postmark gives you a broadcast stream to send to through the API. We add the campaign side on top of ours: contact lists, segments, a block editor, and a warm-up ramp. Free covers 3,000 emails a month, and Pro is $10 for 10,000.
Postmark is a good product run by careful people. Choose us if you want to keep the provider's raw evidence; choose them if a long operational history is the thing you are buying.
