Acceptable use policy
Reputation sovereignty only works if we enforce it. This page is the enforcement half of that promise.

Draft
This document has not yet been reviewed by counsel and is not binding. It is published so you can see the shape of our terms before they are final. The reviewed version will replace it, and the change will appear in the changelog.
The principle
We promise that no other sender can damage your deliverability. That promise is only worth something because we act on it — which means being specific about what gets a workspace stopped, and stopping it.
Consent
Send only to people who asked to hear from you. Purchased lists, scraped addresses, rented lists, and “we have a legitimate interest” applied to strangers are all prohibited. If you cannot say where an address came from, do not send to it — and use the hygiene detectors to find the ones you should not have kept.
Prohibited content
- Phishing, credential harvesting, or impersonating another person or organisation.
- Malware, malicious attachments, or links to either.
- Fraudulent offers, fake invoices, and manufactured urgency about money.
- Content that is illegal where it is sent or received.
- Harassment, or mail targeting a private individual.
Technical conduct
- Do not send from domains you have not verified, or forge headers to appear to.
- Do not strip, hide, or break unsubscribe links, and do not keep sending to addresses that unsubscribed.
- Do not work around suppression lists, rate limits, or a disabled workspace.
- Do not resell OutSend as an open relay for third parties without agreeing that with us first.
What we do about it
Sending reputation is scored per domain and per workspace. When a workspace crosses the threshold it is disabled automatically and queued mail fails rather than sends. For clear abuse — phishing, malware, purchased lists — we act immediately and without warning.
In every case we tell you what happened and why, with the evidence. Being stopped without an explanation you can check is exactly what we built this company to avoid, and that applies when we are the ones doing the stopping.
Appeals and reports
If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice — a person reads it. To report abuse coming from OutSend, emailabuse@getoutsend.com with full headers where you have them.
